In Her Shoes

Tackling my bucket list, one half marathon at a time.

We jammin’ – I hope you like jammin’ too

I’ll get to the goods in a minute, I just need to share something comical. Today, the San Diego Facebook Page posted the following: “We’re counting down to race day! Tell us how your last long run went.”

I came across an interesting comment from a Kristy Laufer:

“I barfed on myself at mile 21. Enough said.”

Yes, I “liked” it. That made me feel better about my 20-mile run.

Anyway…I bought a guitar! For those of you who haven’t noticed, I have a lengthy and lofty bucket list. One item on the list is to learn how to play the guitar, so I’ve taken the first step. A buddy of mine, JT Roach, makes his own music and owns a few guitars. He’s becoming this big ‘ol star and is too good for his old guitars…so he sold me one! For only $100!

I’m so excited. I have ZERO experience. I’m serious…I know nothing. I just learned what a fret is. And what all the strings are (EADGBE). But that’s the point of a bucket list…stepping out of the box, right? Right.

  1. How awesome! My dad played the guitar and now my sister does. Good luck learning! I was just thinking yesterday how I am such a scaredy cat when it comes to trying new things – I would love to learn how to use my husband’s nice DLS camera but I don’t even know where to start. Sometimes getting started is the hardest part, so kudos to you for getting started!!!

    • I know I’m very excited…but it’s going to be a lot harder than I thought. The strings are painful! 🙂 I was the same way with the camera…I love photography and taking pictures so I randomly bought an SLR one day and have just kind of taught myself. I still don’t really know what I’m doing, ha. But I’ll be using it Sunday at the marathon!
