I’m (finally) getting back in the running groove. I definitely lost it there for
awhile a few months. But I’m back! Can someone please remind me to NOT take a break from running next time? Please? I always regret that.
Anyway, I have 5 weeks until race day. My runs went well this week, AKA I didn’t have to force myself out the door. I have a 9-miler on the calendar for Sunday but I’m going to be ballsy and do 10 with a group of running friends tomorrow. We’ll see how that goes.
So where did this motivation come from? Well for starters, I started FREAKING out about not being prepared for the St. Louis Half. Then on Sunday, I went to Ironman. I cannot give those people enough credit. What they accomplish is downright amazing. I figure if these people can swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and then run a marathon…………..I THINK I can run 13.1 miles.
I go to the finish line every year, regardless if I know someone doing it or not. And every year a little piece of my brain tells me I should do an Ironman. But I don’t swim. Or bike. I mean, I do both recreationally, but never for a workout. I know I’ll never do one, but I always have a little inkling. It’s just so inspirational!
For even more running motivation, I ordered this cool medal display for my bedroom. I’m pretty amped about it. Now I just need to fill it up!
