In Her Shoes

Tackling my bucket list, one half marathon at a time.

Wednesday Goods

I’m sharing goods today.

1. It’s National Running Day! What does that mean? I got $20 off my Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll registration! It’s cool…still cost me $90. But NRD also means a mid-week run with my favorite running peeps. We’re hitting the UW Arboretum then hitting the brews to celebrate.

I also stumbled upon this awesome vid of the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, which I ran in 2012. Ugh, gives me goosebumps.

2. Quote: My sister shared this with me a while back, and it’s about time I pass it on:

“You are so young. You stand before beginnings. I would like to beg of you, dear friend, as well as I can – to have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart.  Try to love the questions like locked rooms. Like books written in a foreign language.  Do not now look for the answers. They cannot be given to you…because you could not live with them. It is a question of experiencing everything…You need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.” -Rainer Maria Rilke

3. 38 Little Things That Make You Feel Great

4. I bought a bed yesterday. A real bed. Like with a headboard and footboard. I’m officially an adult. Isn’t it perdy? It’s funny the things that make me giddy these days.

5. 4th of July. Without a doubt the best holiday there is. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the 4th, obsessed with America clothing and even more obsessed with fireworks. Well we’re less than a month away from my Christmas. So yes, I AM already planning how to do my nails for the festivities. 4th of july nails

And lastly, a tune. I’m not a huge country fan but this is a JAM. And it’s on repeat.

  1. I considered dropping in on the Cabalka party at the Denver R’n’R, $90? Are you doing the FULL? I signed up for SF and Pasadena, such a great price today on their events. Nice bed, you are definitely making a turn into adulthood…caring about your furniture is major sign…when I prioritized a modern rocking chair over a video game console I knew there was no turning back. The song is catchy, I listened to the whole thing…for the last time.

    • Dooo it!!!! That’d be so fun! Then we can all finally meet in person! Nope, I’m just doing the half…I have my full in Madison 3 weeks later. Hahaha your comment about the song legit made me laugh out loud. I know…I’m not a country fan so this is out of my box.

  2. 1. Dominick’s comment about the song…hilarious. I’m at work so I can’t listen to it quite yet. 2. LOVE the bed…congrats! 3. Can you paint my nails like that at the lake? 4. We’re gonna be aunts in a matter of dayssss!!!!
