Happy 2013! I’m back after a nice, long, refreshing, relaxing, fun, uneventful, lovely little winter break.
Luckily, due to our office being closed for 2 snow days, 4 days of holiday and taking 3 vacation days, I had a splendid 13-day vacation. And what did I do? A whole lot of nothing. Our family trip to Arizona was postponed to January, so I had 13 days to kill. Ok, I didn’t actually do NOTHING….
On our first snow day, my friend Beth and I made a snowman. Meet Burky — a combination of Bucky and Herky.
I thought I’d have to work the next day (but nope–we were closed again) so I dug my car out. But not without playing on it first!
I’m attempting the 26 Acts of Kindness in honor of the Newtown Shooting victims. We dug out a random person’s car!
I hung out with old friends who were in town for the holidays.
And saw even MORE old friends!
My best friend who lives in Denver (Emily) was home during my entire break. I hung out with her EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. We spent most of our time being lazy watching movies, sports and vegging out. Real healthy.
Don’t worry…we weren’t complete POS’s. We went snowshoeing!
Took a drive through the Olin Park Christmas lights…again. This picture does not do the background justice.
Went to the Badger game and watched them annihilate Samford.
I rang in the New Year with some wonderful peeps.
Needless to say, my winter break was a tad shy of crazy. And I had no problem with this. Actually, I wouldn’t have changed anything. Wait– I take that back. I was supposed to practice the guitar everyday and didn’t touch it once. But other than that, it was just the break I needed.
